I stopped watching a couple of seasons ago because I grew tired of the bickering between Steve and Danny, and I didn't care for the Jerry character. I always liked Kono and Chin though.

Since Alex O'Loughlin has said season 8 will be his last, I'm guessing the show will end with next season.

I read that article when it came out and I am in the "believe it when I see it" camp. It can and probably should end with season 8 but CBS has a good thing going on Friday nights. An extra buck or two may make him interested in another season or 2 past 8

I would think if 5-0 falls one of the NCIS's, or Scorpion, might move to the lighter action show spot. I am waiting to see what the tone of the SWAT remake will be. The movie remakes, Rush Hour and Lethal Weapon may have fit there with MacGyver if they had survived.

I wanted to like this show but couldn't get through all the ridiculous plot lines especially after Steve needed a liver transplant. How many times has he been shot, stabbed, hit over the head? Would a guy be allowed to continue being a cop after all that? It's one silly scenario after another. I think there is one episode I liked and it was about the old soldier who survived the bombing at Pearl Harbor a few seasons ago. I think he knew Steve's father.

Since I don't have cable, I don't have a lot of choices so I was watching Last Man Standing which I liked better than the other choices on Friday night but apparently it's being canceled. I put Hawaii Five-0 on in the background while I'm doing other things.

so apparently DDK and Park sought pay parity with O'Laughlin and Caan and walked when they didnt get it. Have to wonder about their agents if they really thought they'd get it. Kind of hard to have Hawaii Five-O without Mcgarrett and Danno. You can easily have it without Kelly and Kalakawa. They didnt have a ton of leverage there.

I doubt they'll find it that easy. This series is not by any means the audience-beloved favorite that the original had become.

I'd suggest that both Kim and Park walked into Hawaii 5-O with better audience recognition and equal or better resumes, and were highly popular.

I disagree. It can be argued that the audience for H50 is vastly different than it was for either Lost or Galactica. That said, I dont think O'Laughlin or Caan have that much star power by any means but they are literally the main characters. Without Steve McGarrett it isnt H50

But they had an audience.

I don't think this show has survived because of "Steve McGarrett." The old one did, but not this one. I'd argue that people tuned in to see Grace Park to whatever degree any tuned in to see O'Loughlin.
