Nice post Roxana. A couple of mistakes, but nothing 2-3 months here cannot fix. I was born and raised in PR. 31 years living in the Metro Area has been enough for me and I'm planning to move off the island.

Ciudadela seems to be a new project. Never heard of it, although I'm never checking how is realty in PR. If you can get a piece of that action, nice of you. Don't know how finding a roommate would work. I've actually never met anyone with a roommate except those on college.

Again. Good luck with the move!

Default Moving to PR

Hi, Roxana

It is true that it is hard to find a job. More true if you are looking an entry level position. Usually IT professionals as software engineer and others in STEM area do better. In my case, I just graduated and I am moving to DC Metro Area in order to get better opportunities and further my education. There is where a lot of Puertoricans are moving now.

In term of safety, keep yourself out bad places and you will do fine. This is not Mexico. Think of Puerto Rico as other state of the US. That what we are a free state in association with the USA.

Um I don't know about Ponce. However, due to the fact that San Juan is our capital there always more opportunities there. I know about the Isabela-Mayaguez area. It is a hub for aerospace. Basically there are outsourcing from the states with the advantage they can pay less than they would pay in the USA. You can find HP, Honeywell, Infotech, Axon among others. For example, Infotech is hiring now (Careers).

Not an interior designer, but I am really into architecture, urban planning and historic conservation.

I am a student at Mayagüez and am finally living the urban life I've been dreaming of, even if it is with a roommate.

Ciudadela is a great project. I just wish I knew more about call centers. Surely you'll find something in customer service.

yeah roxana,
clasificadosonline is the absolute best classifieds in Puerto Rico by far. better than the newspaper classifieds, better than craigslist of course cause craigslist isnt used here, and better than any other classifieds. i know lots of people who use it regularly for a lot of things, including finding employment.
