Hello, I'm new to the board, good luck and smooth sailing to all my brothers and sisters out of job in these tough times!
I was recently laid off, and have filed for unemployment benefits in New York state. I originally planned to move back to Pennsylvania home while I search for another job, so I wrote it down as mailing address on the benefits application form.
According to NY Dept. of Labor's unemployment handbook, however, an applicant must inform the state if he intends to move out of state, so that a claim could be "transferred".
What does it mean? What will happen with my benefits?

"Transferred" could mean a combined/shared claim with PA if you have earnings there. Ultimately, if you earn money in PA that might happen. Don't worry about it for now.
Ignore this. Keep filing your claims with NY as usual.
