I reside in CA and applied for PUA as self-employed and started getting benefits then I received a letter stating that I'm eligible to receive PEUC extension of my regular UI benefits from 2018 which lasts for 13 weeks only and will end by end of this month, June 2020. I read that the FAC payment will be paid till end of July 2020 as long as I receive my UI benefits. So in this case when my UI benefits end by end of June, I will stop receiving benefits all together...
Is there a way to file for a second extension or another claim or can I switch back to PUA?

Thank you,
So you were approved for PUA claim (probably done to rush through and get payments quickly out to people). Then upon review they realized you were eligible for PEUC extension under your regular UI exhausted benefits? I believe you should be able to switch back or reopen a PUA claim once extension ends. Prerequisite for PUA claim is that you can't be eligible to receive UI and now that they've realized you are qualified under the PEUC extension off of your expired UI claim they are switching you to PEUC. for PEUC you will receive the same amount you received weekly on your original UI claim with exhausted benefits. Are you receiving the $167 for PUA currently? You may end up getting more $$$ each of the 13 weeks pending what you collected on your expired claim.
and yes if not receiving PUA, UI, or PEUC payments for a week then no FPUC $600 payment for that week.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply and sorry for the late response.
I've been receiving $450 plus $600 weekly for the last 4 weeks plus the difference between 450 and 167 for the 6 previous weeks so I still have 3 weeks left in the pipelines.
I did do some work last year but I didn't mention that in the new application I submitted for PUA since it's specific to self-employment and I didn't think I'll be eligible for UI. I'm thinking maybe I should file for regular unemployment as I did some work in the second, third and fourth quarter of 2019 but none in 2020... do you think I'll be eligible for that?

are you currently on PEUC extension collecting the same rate you were when you exhausted your original UI claim. Do you have enough W2 employment for 2019 to file a new regular UI claim? Remember the base period quarter changes if filing in July versus June. I don't know exactly what week your extension will run out on. If filing in June it would be 1/1 - 12/31/19 as standard base period. If it goes to June standard base period will move to 4/1/19 - 3/31/20.

I meant to say if it goes to July to open the new claim the standard base period will move to 4/1/19 - 3/31/20/
My 2018 claim was paid from 11/10/2018 till 05/11/2019, is that what you meant?
Here's what I made in 2018 by quarter
W1 0
W2 3716
W3 11482
W4 11716.35
And here's what I made this year by quarter
W1 0
W2 12750
W3 2000
W4 1700
Does 2017 count?
Thanks
ok your benefit claim year was really old but you got in with the extension because of the date for when your benefit year was filed in 2018. I thought you recently exhausted benefits and your benefit year.
Once your 13 week extension runs out I thought people were able to switch back to the PUA claim and finishing out the remaining weeks left on PUA claim.
if those last figures are for 2019 why didn't they run you thru for a regular UI clam since you had at least $1300 in one earnings quarter? Why did it go through as a PUA claim. when you were collecting on PUA claim were you getting the $167 a week?
I didn't think i'd qualify for regular UI so I applied for PUA... Can't quite remember what dates I put in my application for PUA, is there somewhere online where I can find this information?
This is my last week with FPUC, it'll be paid on Monday. When and what do you recommend I should do?

If you're in CA, the UI application is the one & the same for UI & PUA. Basically, you fill out the form & input if you have both W-2 &/or self-employed income & EDD will determine what you should be on.
Three questions.
1) What date did you apply for PUA?
2) When you applied, did you list your employers that you earned this income?
3) Is all the income you listed W-2 or is some 1099/self-employed?
