Find out where the closest One Stop Career Center is to you. All of them have EDD reps there. The larger ones have one there every day, the smaller ones have a rep that comes in a couple of days per week.

I have a Cal UI question....

How far back can they go for extensions/claims?

I was claiming UI back in 2006 when I had moved out to Texas, and when it ran out in 12/06, there was no extensions back then.

But then I got a letter in 05/07 saying that I was free to file for an extension they just had - as long as I had worked for 3 months.

I know it's a long shot and 2.5 years later...but hmmm, is there any way I can claim that, or is too late?

I'm just weighing some options here while I await Texas' decision on my second appeal on a claim I have right now.

It doesn't hurt to ask!

Thanks in advance if anyone knows the answer to this!

I think it's too late for that, it has to be fairly recent.

I received my last unemployment check today. So, tomorrow after I get home from my part-time job, I'll file for my extension. Since I'm working all weekend, I have to wait until I finish. Hopefully, I won't have any problems getting my extension.

EDD sent me a new claim form to fill out for my extension, which ends on January 2, 2010. So right now, I have about $5000 until then. But still no job.
