If you don't have Health Insurance while Unemployed... A sickness can financially kill you! My aunt works at a hospital, and that's where she went for treatment for pnuemonia... 5 days in bed with an IV, MRI scan of lungs, and antibiotics. Found heart was affected by pnuemonia... But the total bill $28,000! All taken care of because she had insurance and worked at the same hospital!

I even had a bad hit of pneumonia something but had no Medicare A & B [was being requalified for it] so I cured myself by just taking expectorant.

Anyone know how much other hospital procedures costs?

If you can't afford a hospital while unemployed look for the free medical center in your area! Chicago has a State Public Hospital too but it's crowded!

Ummm....she got off cheap, 28K for 5 days in the hospital, its about that per day. I had an outpatient surgery on my back, $70,000! Fortunately I had insurance, but they jack up the cost to those with insurance to cover those without insurance. And "free" medical care, such as county hospitals, you die in the waiting room, or are seen by some medical student who tells you to take some OTC something and call your doc in the morning. If you had a doctor you wouldn't be sitting there! And they don't even give you medicine, just hand you a script, go fill it if you can find an all-night pharmacy, no insurance, can't pay for it, don't get it, so you sat there for nothing.
