I keep having reoccurring dreams of an old boyfriend. Thing is I am so indifferent and I think our breakup was the best thing ever happened in my life. I am in love with another man currently and happy.
But for past year my old love pops randomly in my dreams...I dream of him in social events usually...my friend is sort of intuitive and spiritual says its probably because either he misses me or he dreams of me too? Any thoughts???
Yes, the Human brain is an amazingly complex biological organ is it not?
Who knows why your ex pops into your dreams, maybe deep inside your cerebrum you realize that that person offered you something your life lacks. Or something that recently happened to you triggered something in your brain...

It could be something as mundane as Umbley of the Seven Moons is manipulating your dreams...
It's not about "him." It's what he represents. Youth? Love? Dreams? Success?
There is an ex I dream about when I'm needing to feel "home" because his family was always loving and accepting of me and those are nice feelings to dream of. It's a corrective experience of my own childhood.
There is one I dream of when I am in need of stability because he was kinda boring yet extremely dependable.
We work stuff like this out in our dreams. Your ex is helping you do that in some way.
Actually about a week ago I had this experience. I had a dream of someone with whom I went to high school. He died of a drug overdose in real life. In the dream he told me to stop thinking about him and that I should leave him alone.
I dream about my ex-wife occasionally, and we've been divorced for 26 years. In my dream, we're back together or getting back together, and the problems in the relationship are no more.
I've never remarried, and at my age, probably never will and don't think I will ever be in another romantic relationship. There's no way I would get back together with my ex. But when I took a long vacation a couple of years ago, realized doing all the driving by myself wasn't any fun, and neither was experiencing things with no one to share them with.
So in my case, I attribute the dreams to regrets about the way our relationship fell apart, and the loneliness of facing old age and death by myself. I'm working things out, in other words, but they don't necessarily have anything to do with the ex in particular.
