I did but didn't realize it till later. It's amazing how at the time one rationalizes away these strange occurrences.

I was living on the ground floor unit of a house. The lady and her son upstairs moved out, so I essentially occupied the entire house all by myself, except of course I had no access to upstairs. These are the events that made me think a ghost lived there:

1. I woke up in the middle of the night with the bed shaking. Not shaking violently but shaking nonetheless. I even sat up and examined the bed. It literally was shaking! The only reason I wasn't spooked out was because I assumed it was a tremor. The next morning I turned on the TV expecting news of a tremor but nothing. I called a few people and none of them experienced any tremor.

2. I went away on a 2 week vacation and as usual (I like to conserve energy), I switched off all the lights and locked up all the windows and doors. When I came back, the living room light was on. I called my landlord and asked him if he came in while I was gone and turned it on. He said he didn't, and told me he would never do that without my permission.

3. I went to bed one night and saw the upstairs light on. Nobody had lived in it for ages. Once again, called the landlord and he denied doing that, and sent someone to turn it off since I didn't have access to that unit.

4. A group of partying guys moved upstairs and the first day they moved in, one of them ran down and knocked on my door, and asked me, "Is this house haunted?" I shrugged my shoulders. I had rationalized everything up to this point and never allowed myself to "go there" so to speak. He said someone keeps turning off his stereo, and it wasn't his roommates. Another roommate of his said someone kept closing his door whenever he went to the bathroom.

Conclusion: A spirit moved upstairs when the lady and her son moved out. The spirit came downstairs when I was gone for vacation, and started playing pranks on the loud noisy guys upstairs. Eventually I moved out as the guys were too noisy and loud for me.

Have you lived in a haunted house?

Hmm..Haunted houses are an interesting topic, especially to be discussed on the politics forum.

But, I'm just curious to see how someone will find a way to turn this thead into an anti-Obama rant..

I once owned a house that had mysterious noises, like clanking of pots and pans or someone dropping something, coming down the hallway from the kitchen to my bedroom after I had gone to bed. It started right after I moved in and continued for several years. Even overnight guests would ask about the strange noises. I always told them it was Casper The Friendly Ghost. The noises gradually became less and less frequent and eventually disappeared entirely.

Obama is the reason haunted houses are still around. He should have done something about it in his first year.

Yes, I have lived in two haunted houses.

In one I would hear pounding on the walls downstairs when I was upstairs; to the point the walls would shake.

In the other there was a room upstairs that creeped me out to enter. I never used the room for anything, not even storage! I would hear footsteps in the upstairs hallway at night. I later found out that a man who lived there previously was murdered in the house by one of the neighbors (who still lived there in the neighborhood).

Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I lived in an apartment where I would see small black shapes 'flying' around the living room. I could never quite see them straight on.

All three places were a little freaky but not to the point I felt threatened.
