IMHO, Manchester is one of the most hideous places in the UK, along with Middlesborough, Liverpool, Dundee and Sheffield.
I did my degree in Manchester. I haven't lived there for a number if years but I would agree that Didsbury was my favourite place. I would agree I never thought Manchester city center had much going for it in comparison with my hometown which is Liverpool.
Liverpool is not a hideous city, it is a beautiful historic city. Particularly since it has undergone a regeneration over the last 3 decades which makes it unrecognisable from the city I knew growing up, yet still retains all its character and history.

Manchester, along with Glasgow, Liverpool and Belfast, are 4 out of 10 fastest-growing tourist destinations in Europe.

No, that's not what I said at all. Once again, you've completely missed the point.

I have only just stumbled upon this but what an incredibly ignorant thing to say, while your post regarding Liverpool could not be further from the truth - you are a fool and your credibility on this forum is virtually nonexistent now, feel free to shy away and never post again.
