the populace (of the UK) made their minds up nearly 3 years ago, its the MP's who are going against the wishes of their constituents, this could have all been sorted 2 years ago but oh no...the MP's know better......idiots.

Of course they know better, it's their job to look after the UKs interest and fully understand the pros and cons of EU membership, given the majority want to stay speaks volumes.

Is this satirical?

I wouldn't trust any UK politician of the past 30 years to be alone with a book of matches, sadly theres little alternative with government, I just continue to hope they spend time see-sawing between trying to implement their incompetence and tearing down the previous incumbents implemented incompetence.

Most politicians literally are of mediocre to low intellect, with marginal academics, and little employment experience. Why would you think that better qualified them to fully understand the pros and cons than anyone on anything?

Giving someone a job does not imply they're competent at that job. Example the House of Commons is a s**t show, has been for 2 years, and now they're the call to authority?

Rubbish, none of them know anything about the departments they are posted to, most have no knowledge of business or finance, many come straight from university into politics.
the majority OF POLITICIANS may want to stay, they get gold plated pensions from the EU and good paying jobs when they leave British politics, the likes of the Kinnocks etc.
anyway their all finished come the next General Election and they know it.

Exactly. If you asked 100 people in the street for a detailed assessment of the current situation I doubt if one could oblige.
The MP's are paid to unravel these things and we elect them to do it whilst we get on with our daily lives - at least that's the theory.

One thing that does irritate is when the 'just get on wiv it' brigade maintain they knew exactly what they were voting for.
Really? If they did, I wish they'd explained it to me at the time because I would have voted to stay in.

Give them a totally free vote and Brexit would have been buried two years ago.

They are stuck between a rock and a hard place, they know it is totally damaging for the UK to leave but feel duty bound to carry out the will of the referendum.

The horses are now out of the gate, getting them back in is going to be very difficult.

Since when do Westminster MPs get EU pensions?

If they vote by their constituencies, of 400 constituencies 137 voted remain, the remaining 263 voted leave.

That's representative democracy, the representative represents their constituency (because the clue is in the name). So sure give 'em a vote, but make it aligned with their constituency result, or recall any politician failing to do so.

The point of government is to represent the wishes of the people, otherwise it's just a dog and pony show for tyranny.

So due to recent developments the US media is pretty much playing it up as if Brexit is done for and isn't going to happen. Is that how you're seeing it over on your side of the pond as well?
