That's the one

And unfortunately that's the biggest problem because I would need a sponsor and as it's costs around $10,000 I've read they won't want to take a chance on a stranger.

Hopefully it will open up more free movement between us like the EU so a super good looking, hard working bloke like myself can get over without a sponsor

Thank you for doing a bit of research and helping that's very kind of you

You are welcome, LondonCowboy.

When I was doing research online for another thread, I noticed that there is a British expat association with members in the United States. Perhaps they could advise you? Point you towards contacts in the USA?

BTW, a new class of work visas will be different from the EU thing. A visa is issued to a specific individual, and a government may establish a quota. Such as issuing only a small number of visas per year.

That's a great idea and never considered that

I think I'll try my luck this year even if it's only for 6 months - a year it would be the experience of a lifetime

The British American Chamber of Commerce is involved with British companies operating in the United States. Perhaps they could advise you?

Right you are Dave and there you go again. Do you still believe in the tooth fairy? I also have a second hand bridge to sell, built it myself in my backyard. Slow motion withdrawal I agree with, say about 8 to 10 years.

Yes, you don't have the money to move to the United States.
