Does anyone live in SLC and commute to Provo? If so, how long does it take during rush hour?

No personal knowledge but I had a co-worker who did it. He lived in the southern end of the valley and said he made it in about 30 min. When I head that way during the day (non-rush hour), from SugarHouse, it takes me between 45-50 min.

Default SLC to Provo

Thanks a lot. Do you know if your co-work lived within the city limits? I would love to live in the city itself, but it looks like the commutes from Murray or Sandy would also be 50 min, so I'm worried about whether living in the city itself would push it way over an hour in rush hour....either way, thanks for the info re: SugarHouse. Overall, I want the diversity, things to do, and easy accessibility of the city but I don't really want to commute more than an hour each day....I'm trying to figure this out from a map which doesn't give a great gauge for traffic variations.

Thinking of the future, they are about 3-4 years away from openning the new commuter train, Front Runner, from Provo to Ogden (the SLC to Ogden part is already running). I am sure that will open up some new ways to commute between Provo and SLC.

But until then, I would imagine that would be a rough commute, especially in the winter.

You could just live in Sandy have a shorter commute and drive the 20-25 minutes to the city when you want to go in. Or just hop on trax to the city.

I live on the far west side of the valley but I feel like everything is close.

Once you come here you will see what I mean.
