You can't buy anything except 3.2% beer in the grocery stores. Wine and hard liquor must be purchased from a state-run liquor store and these are closed on Sundays. Alcoholic beverages are served in most nicer restaurants along with your meal. (Not sure how many "nicer restaurants" there might be in Kanab, though.
) It's really not hard to find a drink in Salt Lake, but it will be a bit more difficult -- though by no means impossible -- in Kanab. My guess is that the price difference would not be that big. It's mostly just the inconvenience you're looking at.

Cool... A friend of mine is just outside of Atlanta. I was born and raised in Louisiana and now living outside of Tampa, FL. A life-long dream of mine is to move out west near the mountains. As you see...I am still dreaming and praying to get there one day.

) It's really not hard to find a drink in Salt Lake, but it will be a bit more difficult -- though by no means impossible -- in Kanab. My guess is that the price difference would not be that big. It's mostly just the inconvenience you're looking at.
