i do not think regular iron supplementation is a good idea, however, i have had to raise my ron levels quickly a few times and found that the supplement called floradix is pretty amazing. is a liquid and really works to actually change the blood test levels of iron and make everyone shut up about how i ought to be eating meat quickly

What is surprising to me is that I eat a lot of nuts & legumes, everyday. My snack every day is a cup or two of nuts or a trail mix with nuts & dried fruits and I have legumes 3-4 times a week. I do miss out on the Vit C though, since I don't like citrus-y juices. So this might be the problem!
You can get Vit C in many other foods besides the citrusy fruits/juices.

Before using cast iron pans the first time they have to be 'seasoned' (to keep food from sticking) and are continually 'seasoned' each time they are cooked in. I don't see how the iron can pass this 'seasoned' barrier to get into the food...

Hey what exactly is Blackstrap molasses? What do you use it for/in? Heard about it the past but never used it. You drink it? What else is it for other than high iron?

Does vit C high the iron through your system?
molasses are a syrup, and i love to mix some in with my peanut butter and eat with a spoon.
while raising my kids i'd stir some in their milk (it's called Tiger's Milk that way). They loved it and never had any probs with anemia.

Blood bank told me to eat raisins to increase my iron levels. You can get the small boxes of Sun Maid for convenience.
