Oh, and what is the right price to pay for spaying/neutering?
We have used the River Road Vet Clinic in Norwich (right on the CT river between Norwich & Thetford) for a long, long time. In fact, we are bringing our dog there today (Sunday) for an emergency as she appears to have hurt her back somehow yesterday.
River Road provides very good care but I found them very overpriced in the past. One of their vets (who unfortunately left the practice) performed life saving surgery on my cat after she was hit by a car years ago, that care was wonderful. I just think they charge too much. Once they quoted $250 for surgery on a dog and it turned out to be more like $500-600. I protested and they reduced the bill, but that turned me off to them.
We now go to the Lyme Vet Clinic, but that may be too far north for you. I think you are in Hartford or Hartland, maybe someone will write in from there.
I have heard good things about the clinic that is on the west side of RT 10 near Sachem Village in West Lebanon, (close to Hanover) I can't immediately remember the name of it, but you can drive by.

Country Animal Hospital located in Bethel Vermont is a excellent place for Vet care
The price to spay is going to range from$100.00 to $120.00 depending where you go. Which covers the surgery and clinical evaluation which most vet's request pet owners to do. Also you will need to get Rabies vacine and any other tests that have not yet been done for your new pet.
