My Husband and I got married in North Pomfret, Vermont...circa 1982. It was a windy, semi-cloudy day in June....and it was perfect. The wonderful Doris Rykert was the minister who is long gone now...but she welcomed us into her home and talked to us about life, marriage and spiritual beliefs...we were young. It was a magical wedding, just us and his parents, and his older brother.

I would chose Woodstock. It is the perfect quintessential Vermont town with a beautiful countryside.

Hello all!
I am recently engaged and looking for a budget friendly place to have a reception party. Our budget is about 800 for the reception site. If anyone has any places in mind in the Vermont / New Hampshire Area please let me know. The wedding isnt till June 7th or next year. We are also planning a multicultural potluck so each guest can bring a special dish. Are there any places nice barn area or tented areas in that area? Thank you
Amber

Some Vermont State Parks have halls you can rent. I've been to an event at Kingsland Bay State Park and it was really nice!

I was in Vermont recently, and I could not help but notice the many historic and beautiful town meeting halls which sometimes double as churches.

I'm not sure what their policy is about renting out one of these lovely structures to non-members or non residents. Usually churches will do this, for a modest fee.

Receptions in the Fellowship Hall are very inexpensive everywhere - especially pot luck. I'd check on the alcohol policy, though. Most will be OK. If the church is Baptist, maybe not.https://www.google.com/search?q=firs...WB%3B157%3B118

If you want a unique intimate wedding setting, there is a small chapel in Stowe on the Toll Road that is very pretty. The Toll Road is road that leads up to Mount Mansfield. It is very small so a big group would not fit inside. Years since I have been there.
