Liberty gets to play JMU for the state championship later in the season. Last year JMU beat LU 24-10 but LU is improved this year and ready to make a statement. Unfortunately for LU the game is at JMU this year. If LU had them at their fantastic newly expanded stadium they would have a better shot. LU sports are on the move. A new basketball arena is the next step. Just takes $$$$$$$.

I've never heard of a state championship and how would we already know who would be in that game considering William and Mary and Richmond are other possible contenders, even if there were such a state championship?

JUst a joke. But UVa beat Richmond, VT will beat Uva, JMU beat VT and LU can beat JMU. Thus LU becomes champ of the state. Not sure where W&M fits in but they must play somebody that plays somebody in the mix. OK, they play both JMU and Richmond so if they win both we have a tie if LU wins out. LU used to play W&M but not this year.

Sorry I missed that. An interesting idea though.

I usually play that game of we beat these guys who beat these guys and on and on. It's the only way my team (Cal) ever gets to the national championship. We haven't even been to the Rose Bowl since 1959.

As a Wisconsin alum all I can say is keep hoping. I thought I would NEVER see UW in the Rose Bowl in my lifetime. Then we went three times in a brief span. I must admit my first trip there my eyes got misty seeing WISCONSIN painted on one end zone. Now we need to get back--already been 10 years. Ohio State quite goofing around and hired a real coach. Game over. Ohio alone has more football talent the the rest of the B10 states combined. We fight over their rejects.

Don't get too greedy now. My team (Cal) hasn't been there since 1959.
