That isn’t Asheville

I don't think it's that bad. I lived in NYC so I know iffy neighborhoods and I've never felt afraid shopping there.
The north end of NN and the south end are different worlds though. That being said I think P-town is worse then NN.

With a voice like that, I doubt he has ever left his mother's basement....

His videos are NOT entirely accurate. It is clear that he has NEVER set foot in some of the states he "reviews" as the pictures and facts he presents do not match the location described.

He actually drives through many of the locations. In fact he's posted videos of him driving though a lot of Virginia. Sure he uses stock footage, so does mainstream news. Realistically how many videos are out there showing off Marion, VA?

Honestly as a whole he's pretty accurate Galax, Danville, and Emporia are all past their sell by date. Roanoke is sketchy in most places and besides a few areas I'd agree with Newport News.

I also agree with the Loudoun claim. If you're looking for value / quality of life / education Loudoun fails as there's a lot better places that are less expensive, less divided, less full of drama, and have a school board that cares about the children and parents of the community. (Trust me from first hand knowledge, a ton of teachers in Loudoun hate the administration and loathe the board and fully agree with the statement. They're just scared to voice an opinion under these conditions)

All in all his job is to get views and entertain.

Richmond isn't looking too good now!

It is a sad story, no doubt. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. I do have to mention that it is a little off-putting to bring this up here in such a flippant manor on such a trivial thread about a youtube video. Idk, just feels "low".

Some non-related development news out of the city:
https://richmondbizsense.com/2023/06...ommission-nod/

The $17.25 million deal set a record high for land sales on a per-acre basis in Richmond.

Let's try not to be ugly during such a trying time.

I came across this video.

What do you all think about the places mentioned? Do you agree or disagree?
I'm originally from Marion, VA I wouldn't recommend it.

Last time I checked, Emporia and Tappahannock had the highest crime RATES of all small towns in VA. Emporia is known as the biggest speeding-trap in Virginia. Their large bicycling club attracted people far and wide, on weekends - I wonder if it's still in existence ?

"The Atlantic" magazine did TWO stories a few years ago praising the comeback of Danville. Its downtown residential population has increased from near zero, to a few hundred now, as old industrial buildings are converted to loft apartments. A new YMCA fitness center has lowered the obesity of both black and white users, (and includes free babysitting for those exercising). The city also has a big initiative to convert all its schools and municipal buildings to Solar power. And now the coming casino.
