The unique 'fun' things to do in DC will wear off after a few months. After that, your everyday 'fun' things to do (i.e. going to sports games, going to play productions, going to the park, etc) are a dime a dozen in cities across the country -- many of which offer a much better quality of life than DC.

Goodluck. You'll need it.

Yes DC is kind of a walking city, but NYC is much more cosmopolitan, bigger with more things to offer IMO. DC has things to do yes, but not on the scale of NYC.

I'm not sure. Something non-stress related. Maybe start my own business. Do consulting or something where I can set my own hours. And if I make enough for the year, chill out. I think many of us here would love to start over. This area is very competitive, expensive. Not to mention all the damn speed cameras and red light cameras. Yadda. Yadda.

Jobs here are pretty much limited to $10/hour call center jobs. An apartment in a decent/safe neighborhood runs about $1,100.00

Everyone in your area earns $10 hour? How do you afford an $1100 mo apt on $21K year unless a two income household? That is ~$1300 yearly in rent alone leaving you with $8K to pick up the rest of your life.

Florida cost of living is a lot cheaper than DC. Of course $10 here requires public trans, a roommate, and Ramen Noodles. A single person could get by a little easier with $10/hour in FL.

FL is nice to visit, but no geographic diversity like here in MD or CA which is pretty cool IMO.

These are the 2 best cities overall in the U.S., as far as I'm concerned.
