Kind of sad to see this store go. Magruders was always the first stop for groceries. It was a great store with friendly people and cheap groceries. I still remember the days when the store was located on N. Washington st.

Just too much competition for them. Amazing how many choices we have now. The 2 stores in our area people seem to be most passionate about are Aldi's and Wegman's.

I always wondered how was Magruders able to sell beer and wine and other grocery stores in MD still can't?

And to be honest, those 2 aren't much better and I don't really care for them.

The Gaithersburg store sold alcohol. I like their selection and I always remembered the days when me and my friends would make the drive there.
