Hopefully, construction will get underway on the new White Flint soon (once they can demolish what's left). Should be a nice Town Center type of project.
I wonder where PF Changs is going? They have to be looking....

Not going to happen. The whole concept of indoor shopping malls has been declining nationwide thanks to growth of online retail and the concept of open air town centers which feature residential and entertainment venues in addition to retail.

It's more Live, Work, Play. You're right, malls are dying and repositioning. Still, $mk8795 might be right. Over in Tysons they are building office buildings near the new Metro stops. They just recruited intelsat, Lerner (the owner of the Nats) is building a new office building a stone's throw from the Metro. I just wonder who will lease that? Probably a major firm, my guess, someone national, not necessarly from this area. Maybe a downtown tenant, either way, thats creating real jobs!

What is Maryland building at the moment? High rise residential.......which is fine, but it aint really creating long term jobs...but I guess that is what he casinos are for???

Well, they are currently redeveloping CityPlace in downtown Silver Spring. That's all I can think of. The outlets in Clarksburg won't be enclosed.

With the BRAC realignment which is bringing hundreds of defense jobs to Fort Meade and Aberdeen Proving Ground, I would say Maryland is doing okay in regards to job growth. Not to mention the very likely possibility of the FBI relocating from the Hoover Building in DC to Greenbelt which is likely to spur more job growth in Prince Georges County.

Not according to the new numbers that just came out....seems MD is bleeding jobs...and I'm not counting on the FBI until its done....
