BLVD issues were an exception...those type of crimes haven't happen before the BLVD were built and haven't happen after. Someone was killed at Columbia Mall that hasn't stop anyone on this board from visiting the mall I'm sure. Besides this has been close to 3 years in the making. They been wanted to sign a lease for the area and like another poster stated other restaurants and shops are now showing interest because of the Dave & Busters Restaurant
Good points Mos82. I agree completely. No matter what Prince Georges County does, folks will still have something bad to say about our efforts....especially MOCO and Commonwealth folks. Such is life, I suppose....

I'm BLACK and I don't want D&B in PG county...I'm sorry but it needs to stay in MOCO (Downtown Silver Spring to be Exact) Nothing against PG County but its been in Montgomery for a long time and it need to stay there......I'm not saying PG county can't support D&B (Maybe Fort washington, Upper Malboro or Bowie area) but any other place can't....I KNOW YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAR THIS BUT IT WON'T LAST THAT LONG IN PG COUNTY (I GIVE IT 2 YEARS AND I'M BEING NICE)Thats all based on the few bad apples that are going to mess it up for everyone.....its in Capital Heights enough said!!!!!

I'm not sure I get this post. Race is not a factor here. Is it? I'm not sure it matters if people in this discussion are black or white. D&B is a national chain that caters to all demographics. I've been to D&B in three different states in three different parts of the country.

Your post makes one believe you think MoCo had the only D&B. Should it matter if a national chain decides to locate in both counties? The one in White Flint lasted for decades and people from all over the DC area went there, not just local kids from Bethesda and Rockville. I used to go there since high school and I have seen some stuff go down there on more than one occasion. They didn't pull up their stakes and leave though did they?

You don't really believe that there are only three locations in the county where a glorified video arcade, bar, and restaurant combo would survive.

Reading this thread, you'd think the county was getting a luxury resort casino by MGM or something.

Oh wait.....

I think part of the problem is "us" In this thread and this county as a whole. How come whenever PG is scheduled to get something new "we" automatically, before any other group of people, project that "we" will fail in sustaining it. This is part of the systemic problem this county will never get over if we do not hold ourselves to a higher standard. If "they" are willing to invest in businesses in "our" county, yet "we" automatically right off any type of business potential it could have on the local economy how are we ever going to succeed?

Didn't people say Tanger outlets would fail? Heck I remember as a whole when some claimed the Harbor would possibly have its doubts too, now look at it new apartments and $600,000 homes going up.

I think it will be a success. Some of you white washed idiots should stay in your so called affluent Silver Spring. I bet some of you MOCO residents are living in the lower class section of MOCO. It's like the guy who has an old beat up outdated BMW and is criticizing the person who has a brand new Toyota. Fact of the matter is PG County is a county of 900,000 plus and the count's household income is in the top 100. (Prince George's County is the 70th most affluent county in the United States by median income for families and the most affluent county in the United States with an African-American majority. Almost 38.8% of all households in Prince George's County, earned over $100,000 in 2008). So obviously the county can support D&B, SAKS etc. You have too many bougie people who probably live in an apartment in MOCO trying to put down PG. I know many of them. SO IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT DON'T COME, NO ONE IS BEGGING ANY OF YOU WANNA BE AFFLUENT IDIOTS TO COME SUPPORT IT.

I'm not ignorant of course there another D&B in Maryland and that Anne Arundel. I'm simply stating that what happen to the BLVD is going to be a continue trend in the New D&B location. Downtown Silver Spring is what I consider middle ground where everyone could get to it easy. Yes its my opinion but I really don't see it lasting that long in the Capital heights area....Its not going to work and I give it 2 years...................The only reason why the National Harbor didn't fall through is because of the HEAVY investor in that area and A LOT of security to keep the BAD APPLES out

You people and your views of PG being a modern day Compton, California and Detroit are annoying as ****.

Adelphi Sky you are a typical sell out. We can't allow the bad apples from stopping progress. I bet you are from Capitol Heights we are always the ones that put down our own community. Give it a chance, you didn't invest any of your own money in it. There are plenty of other people who will support it.
