Thanks! At least things are moving forward.

Iron Rooster mentioned in College Park Here & Now April 13th Issue. pg.3

https://issuu.com/collegeparkhereandnow/docs/2023-04

The article mentions the restaurant would open in late Spring. These dates are almost always way early. More like late summer? Hopefully in time for the fall semester. I have not stopped by to peer through the window to see any progress. But the restaurant chain has yet to mention the new location on any of it's media.

Not sure about their Facebook. Not a member.

What's up with the lack of progress on the road repaving project on the bridge over Paint Branch Creek? If nothing is being done, the city should reopen the left turn lanes on the southbound side. Traffic bottlenecks at the intersection of Campus Drive and Route 1.

On June 22nd the County Planning Board approved a detailed site plan for two office buildings (8 and 4 stories) to be located just north of the University of Maryland Hotel. Between the two buildings will be a retail alley, which will include a second university bookstore. Still to come will be a plan for an apartment building to the east of the hotel.

Still waiting on work to begin at the hotel for the Iron Rooster. Two new coming additions are a Greene Turtle (old Jason's Deli location) and a Terrapin Station? (old Hard Times Cafe location). Terrapin Station would be by owner of Olney Station restaurant. Former Rugged Warehouse space (about 15,000 sq ft) in the shopping center is being renovated to become two leaseable spaces.

Anything coming to the Milkboy Arthouse location? Property owner doesn’t seem to care that a huge space is vacant more often than occupied? Needs to be a bar/restaurant/live music/ dancing type venue. Sad that it cannot be sustained in college town.

The owner of the Milkboy property has a lease signed by the University. So it is the university's interest to find a tenant.

Nice. Thanks for the retail update. Man I miss those quarterly updates!

Greene Turtle is very popular. Wasn't there a Greene Turtle in Laurel a long time ago?

Nevertheless, I like all the watering holes opening up in the area. This place was pretty dry for a major college campus and suburb of a major city.

Shame that a live music venue can't survive here. Yes, there are many venues on campus for live music, but the DC area is a pretty talented area for musicians. Shouldn't ever be a problem booking local talent.
