So there were "political appointees" that were on the committee that pushed for a criteria change, yes.

Criteria changes were made in July 2023 to comply with Biden's executive order 13985, advancing equity and racial justice. Per the Maryland Daily Record:

Quote:
In July, the GSA announced changes in criteria for choosing the new location, boosting two potential places in Maryland. The new criteria raised the weight given to cost and social equity concerns to 20% each and proximity to the FBI Academy to 25%, down from 35%.

VA won HQ2 and is on the verge of snagging the Wizards and the Capitals. Can't win 'em all but that's not stopping them from trying.

It shouldn't and maybe Maryland should start being real and stop rely on political underhanded play to get what they want.

I'm sure Josh Harris is following the Wizards/Capitals deal very closely. MD better watch and learn from VA or else the Commanders will leapfrog DC on their way to VA.

It's politics. An unwillingness to be underhanded at times goes with the territory.

Yeah, after Maryland sort of stole the team from DC to begin with.

Then the Nationals are in play to be sold and the announcement about the sale of the Orioles is pending becoming official.

I wonder if Virginia can get them all?
