Who would you pick?

I'll start the rumour...........John Delaney, 6th district Congressman. I ran into Andrew Duck, the oft defeated challenger of Roscoe Barlett a few weeks back. He told me he was running for the 6th again. I asked "as a Democrat? That is a tough row to hoe." He said Delaney was running for governor.

As for Edwards. Her reputation isn't good with Annapolis lawmakers, she has burned a lot of bridges.

Of those mentioned , Muse probably has the best chance. He would have the entire Democratic machine behind him (so did Brown but it didn't help him). Baker has the school system albatross.

Hogan will be hard to beat. But, then again, Ehrlich had similar popularity at this point and O'Malley beat him by running against Bush. You'll see whoever the Democrats nominate next year run against Trump. You've already seen that in the Virginia Democratic primary.

Wait. I thought we were talking about the next PG County Executive?

Delaney has already won a couple straw polls.

Throwing the race card on the table, he may not have much intraparty support for the nomination. The Party machinery still wants to elect a Black Governor.

I'm in Ocean City for MML this week and have seen a couple Baker and Muse pins, so they both had some apparatus in place prior to announcing.

Oh crap, we were. Sorry. I was hanging out with too many state officials today. Someone asked about Governor.

OK, back to original. Muse is likely the favorite today.

Exactly. why in the world would we want her BACK in office? PG County is on an upward trajectory and I want the county commissioner to be someone who can continue and expand our opportunities and options.

Delaney's been thinking about running for Governor for years. Delaney is super wealthy so he can wait to announce.

Donna Edwards is done, she ROASTED alot of bridges especially with her divisive campaign for Senator. She should have stayed a congressman, now she is simply looking for work.

Furthermore nobody is defeating Hogan. He has done well, survived cancer and negotiated Trump masterfully. He stayed miles away from the Republican Convention and Trump. People trying to attach him to Trump would literally be grasping at straws ( and energizing some voters out in the rural counties to support him). If Anthony Brown could not beat him then nobody currently is, not Baker or Edwards for darn sure.

The same thing was said at this point about Ehrlich, who went into the 2006 election against O'Malley with an approval rating of close to 55% amongst all voters. He still lost.
