Such an unhealthy obsession with labels and materialism. A regional culture isn't defined by some company that makes clothes in China and may or may not be trendy in another 6 months.
I think it's a black thing. Hey...you were thinking it...
Yeah at the end of the day Mid-Atlantic is the best way to describe this area. That "urrr" is not northern but I still say its not southern. The DC uurrea does its own thing and that's a good thing. Still say this is the north (see how I'm talking out of both sides of my mouth) at the end of the day. But perhaps its north-lite? I don't know.
Sigh. I can't even take you seriously. Quit trying to start a fight. Black folks did not invent materialism. Why dump on a fairly light discussion?
I'm not talking about MATERIALISM!!!
It's about some people (mainly black) on this board thinking that what a few people wear in the hood defines an entire region. If we were Eskimos or wore burkas, then yes, maybe they would have a point. But Timbaland doesn't define DC. Oy Vey!!!

You'd have a valid point if you weren't playing the race card. Why not just say "I disagree with your statement regarding regional fashion and here's why"?
The statements that were said don't reflect my fashion choices but its not a black and white thing its a Terrence thing. Play nice and try having a calm discussion without bringing up race.

Ok: I disagree with your statement regarding regional fashion because you are only bringing up examples of fashion held by a certain portion of a very small minority population. This population also tends to be very young, uneducated, and associate these fashions with the hip-hop and gang culture.
There ya go!
