I'm going to Farragut North and then transferring over to the green line. Friend just texted me and said I should be fine, but we'll see. Plus I'm going to the Nats game and judging from the latest tweet, the away team still hasn't arrived at the ballpark.

FWIW, my commute home took 50 minutes. It usually takes 30 and includes the orange line from Foggy Bottom to Ballston. It's not too bad.

My usual 40 minute commute took nearly three hours. The platform at Farragut West was jammed, so I took a train in the opposite direction until I saw a platform that wasn't. That was Federal South. I was able to get on there and get a seat. Two stops later, the train was sardine can jammed.

When I got back to Farragut West an hour after I left, the platform was jammed exactly like before. Train stayed jammed all the way to Franconia-Springfield.

I'm in SE Pa and we felt it. I was right here on CD, LOL. I felt a thump thump thump and thought for a second I was having heart palpitations. Then I thought a ghost was in the room shaking the chair and stomping on the floor. I was in the process of researching a family tale about a notorious historical character the family met and thought I pissed his spirit off. Then I felt the house shake. It wasn't as bad as one we had about 15 years ago but seemed a little longer.
They got a little ridiculous in Philly and NYC but Mayor Nutter stepped up and chastised people for making a bigger deal out of it than it was.

It woke me up here in Logan Circle. Better than an alarm clock, but quite a bit more frightening when you're only partially cognizant. Jumped out of bed, but it was over before I really decided what my move should be.

What the hell. I left at 5:27. I'm just walking thru the door. I'm tired and hungry. I don't have any kids, so I don't have any leftovers.

I'M SCREWED!
