Well guess it is offical...Apple is not coming to City Center

Not a fatal blow for the project, but still a big disapointment. It was also disapointing to read that the developers will now try to market the spot as a high end restaurant. DC has plenty of those, what it needs more of is downtown retail.

In my opinion Apple not coming is no big loss.
Now this is coming from someone who was using Apple computers 30+ years ago way before it became trendy.

Looks like Uniqlo won't be opening in the next round. Perhaps a City Center Uniqlo will open in a different round in the fall?

But then everyone started using the TI-83's and now they're OVER.

Haha. I was thinking the exact same thing. This guy is the ultimate hipster. Whatever is popular, he did it back when it was on the fringe and has to make sure everyone know he's over it. Once DC became popular, he had to face his biggest challenge of rejecting the entire city that raised him.

So having an interest in computers, electronics & cable television at a young age makes me a hipster?

I absolutely HATE Sarah Jessica Parker and her Sex And The City BULLSH*T but I used to watch Square Pegs when I was a teenager.
I LOVED that show.
So does that make me a hipster?

Do you remember these Media General Cable boxes from back in the day?
I still have one.
Does collecting them make me a hipster?

Haha. No, it's not about the technology or television or whatever. It's about your attitude of condescension over people who weren't hip to it (or alive for it) back before it was mainstream. That's what makes you, by definition, a hipster.

Why you still have all this old crap from the 70s and 80s might reflect a deeper need for attachment you have to that era for some reason that might not be very healthy. Just spitballing.

It would have been fun to grow up with you and see DC through your eyes.
