Gig Harbor has less residents, so the crime is more concentrated. The thing with GH is that the media is totally absent here, so the crimes are not broadcast to anyone. Even the location "news"paper rarely upates the police log. Lots of burglaries, thefts, and other crimes like that. Not as much violent crime as other places, but once you're out of the city proper, the crime rate on Key Peninsula, is bad with lots of drugs and burglary.

Port Orchard, to the north, has almost as much crime as Detroit, statistically.. SKagit County is quite crime-infested, as well.

Pointless to compare towns and cities. Cities generally have good and bad areas, which average out. Towns (and neighborhoods) tend to be much more one way or the other.

Everett's pretty scary, Casino Rd. is basically Compton-lite. I used to deliver for my job in that area, and would fear for my life.
