I'm moving my family back to the Seattle area this summer and have been looking for homes in Edmonds. While we plan on buying, we haven't quite found the house we are looking for. Since the move is already planned, we figured we would rent for 6-12 months while we find the right home to buy. It's been difficult to find a good source for rental properties - either homes or apartments in the Edmonds Bowl area. Having been there a number of times, we know there are several properties, but we can't find anything in classifieds or online to show us availability. Any suggestions?

Default Finding rentals

I've also had trouble finding rentals without actually driving around and looking for posted signs. Nothing works really great, but I have had the best results using Craigslist (seattle.craigslist.org). It can be hard to narrow down to a certain region since a lot of posters like to cross post in all areas. WHY?? I mean if you're looking for a place in Edmonds, and some jerk makes his ad for a place in TACOMA pop up on your search, are you gonna change your mind? Anyway I make it sound bad but that's where I have had the best luck so far. To narrow down to a very specific area I often just do a keyword search, but that is not immune to the cross posting. You can also look up apartments on http://www.apartmentratings.com, but the reviews of just about any apartment confirm what I already know -- apartments are awful!
