So, I was just reading the Nanchong thread with its 1100 average sunshine hours a year, and it got me thinking about sunshine hours. I know there are places (most of northern europe comes to mind, and places like this city in China) that are waaay to cloudy, and places (USA comes to mind) that are generally very sunny. I want to know what do you people find the better combination between sunny and cloudy days:
How many sunshine hours a year that would be?
I was curious and i searched how many sunshine hours Buenos Aires had, and i found here: Buenos Aires Climate Information - ClimateTemp.info, Making Sense of Average Monthly Temperature & Weather Data with Detailed Climate Graphs That Portray Average Rainfall & Sunshine Hours that it haves 2533 sunshine hours a year. Having living here for many years, i will have to say that this is the right amount of sunshine hours for me. We certainly have many sunny days, and we have our share of cloudy days (i love cloudy days to a certain extent ). I love the rain and the gloomy days, but i will hate an everyday-gloomy-cloudy weather! I also love a nice spring totally sunny day (like today) but i would get tired of a 365 days a year sunny place. So, i guess my ideal range is what we get here: many sunny days (it can be sunny for 20-30 days in a row), cloudy days often (it can be cloudy for a couple of days in a row), its overall a nice balance. Of course sunny days are more than cloudy days, and that is ok.
So, my ideal range would be between 2400 to 2700 hours of sunshine a year.

Long runs of sunny days are always acceptable, especially if temperatures are not "too high".
I cant imagine how a 500 sunshine hours a year climate would be?

Nothing better on a rainy and foggy day with 200 foot ceilings than hoping on a plane and not being able to see anything 30 seconds after takeoff and then using instruments only to navigate between 2 sharp cloud layers and then having the bright runway lights appear right in front of you 20 seconds before landing!!
I really don't like sunny days. It's sooooo boring when there is nothing in the atmosphere to enjoy flying in!!

I agree with the low part of your table, however, i dont know, never lived in a 3000 + sunshine hours a year place, but i think i would get boring of so much sun?? specially in the summer??

No, wouldn't bore me. Given a choice of places in that range though, I might prefer one that had the best proportion of winter/cool season sunshine.
My best recollections of weather - whether at home or overseas - are runs of sunny days, or the odd single blue dome day with outstanding visibility.

Is there a place like that? Lets say, a 3500 sunshine hours a year place, but not crazy-hot like Phoenix, but template, with a range between 10 and 23 celsius??
