Here in Paris I've only experienced true darkness twice - the rest of the time I've fallen asleep before dark and awakened in daylight. The days are LONG here...lol.
It's gonna be odd to experience darkness again when I get home...lol.
come back in november and you will definitely find it dark ! And i'm not even talking about the weather.
But i like those late sunsets they have already in the spring time. I went to a wedding there about a year ago, and the darkness came considerably later than down here, probably one hour later at that point, later than we ever have actually... I had almost forgotten about those late sunsets. And it was only early may !

That way we have more realistic timezones and some people get an add on. Then we drop daylightsavings time.
That's probably a bit more realistic in terms of solar noon, but that would probably also be quite a mess to deal with in the age of the European Union.
that would make 4:30 am sunrises and 8 pm sunsets in my home city at summer solstice though
so my solar noon is at 12:47 pm. Prefer it was half hour later.
Means 9 pm sunset in peak of summer but barely before 6 sunrise for the earlier
Given the choices Eastern and Atlantic, what you'd rather have?
