I think nocturnal people tend to like late solar times?
I'm early riser so I like early solar times, especially the sunrise since I off well before 7.

A week from yesterday was the earliest solar noon times for the globe for the year per observer

Besides that northern hemisphere DST ending wherever DST is used, the main natural driving force is that we are approaching the seasonal earth rotational slowdown that relates to the sun distance to earth getting to its closest proximity....closest day is January 2nd....
Between November 5th and February 15th the solar days will be their slowest of the year relative to the 24-hour clock

To offset this major force on the solar day, which is factored into why the mean solar day for the year is what it is, all other solar days of the year have to have averaged faster than the mean solar day to balance it out

So right now has to be the time where the actual start and end of the solar days are most ahead of the clock... If we didn't do this then after february all our clocks would be too far ahead

I woke up at 5:50 today. I don't mind a sunrise somewhat after I wake up as I'm at home for a bit. In the summer, it's nice to wake up in the daylight, no need. But often, the main reason I wake up that early is because sunrise is early.
