Same here. Not used to 5am pitch darkness, let alone 5:30 back home, when sunrise time is 33-34 minutes later (950 km / 590 miles NW from here). sunset time not nearly as much, only 9-10 minutes
Yeah it's odd but I don't mind it so much because I will be lying in.. I think I prefer to have my day skewed to the afternoon..
I will be happy knowing that I have an extra 45 minutes after England in the evening.
Is there a way to find out what the normal winter sunrise is for this latitude? It would be interesting to see who is most offset? The 7:55am sunrise in East Anglia or the 8:50am here?
I did feel that the sunrise over there is a bit too early for such a Northern latitude.

Just check if the solar noon is before or after 12.
