Why does the usa put its clocks forward at weird times. Ive just looked and theres a 4 hour difference between here and nyc and a 4 hour difference between nyc and los angeles. Why do they not put them forward at once like in europe?

The USA changes them at 2 am local time on Sunday, so different times depending on time zone. It's not a time most would care about a time zone discrepancy, I never noticed that until you pointed it out.
Sure wish they'd hold off DST to the end of April like they used to in the old days - that'd be much more reasonable than these silly dark mornings for the next month or so.
Unfortunately we have to wait three more weeks for the clock change, though now would be the ideal time for us to do it, given that even with the extra hour our sunrise time would still be safely before 7.30am.

I liked it best when it began during the first week of April - You don't have to wait forever for late sunsets, but you also don't have to deal with darkness at 7 AM. Second week of March is just ridiculous though.
I had to laugh at my dad today when it snowed "dst starts in three weeks" as if that signified summer. Let me tell you something it doesnt warm up to may.
