Christchurch, 300+ hours sunnier. Nalchik summers are comparatively wet.

This is a tough one, but I think I'll go for Nalchik. Nalchik is a little cooler overall as you would expect due to elevation, however the summers are much warmer. Nalchik does have the disadvantage of colder and cloudier winters but summers are more important to me.

Christchurch by a mile! Winters are way milder with much milder record lows.. I bet you can't grow Canary Island Date Palms and Cabbage Trees in Nalchik

I would guess Christchurch is the top photo and Nalchik the bottom one looking at the vegetation and landscape.

Nalchik has to be the bottom one because people are driving on the right, plus the vegetation/snow on the mountains look right for 12th May. It looks like a nice, attractive city if that picture is typical of the place as a whole.

The top one is Christchurch because I've seen the picture on the Christchurch Wikipedia page.

Christchurch is more of a coastal town than a mountain town
