Cool pictures. TWC is predicting 1-2 inches of snow in Yellowstone tonight. Seeing as they average 0.6 inches for June, this June will be on the snowier side . If I'm not mistaken there has been at least some flake activity earlier this month in a separate storm.
Below is my Google Earth weather interface showing radar, satellite, and current weather as of 10:28 Mountain Daylight Time. There's certainly more pink and white showing up than is typical for June 9.
The Beartooth Pass is currently receiving snow in the higher elevations and there is blowing and drifting causing poor visibility and hazardous road conditions. The gate has been closed at Vista Point so travelers will not be able to continue over the Pass to Cooke City at this time. The Park Service has also closed the gate at Long Lake on the Wyoming side. Motorists can reach Cooke City by way of Hwy 296 in Wyoming which is the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway

DENVER (AP) - State monitors say Colorado's snowpack is almost gone. Colorado conservationist Phyllis Ann Philipps says the June 1 snowpack report shows that the statewide percentage was just 2 percent of average, with many basins reporting no measurable snow.
The Gunnison, Colorado, Arkansas, Upper Rio Grande, and combined San Miguel, Dolores, Animas and San Juan river basins are all reporting no snow.
Philipps says the snowmelt is a month earlier than normal, with many streams at their lowest levels since 2002.
Seems to be the opposite of what's happening in Montana and Alberta.
Thats true..I had to do a double take..I posted a read something about Montana snowpack increasing. LOL. But I guess the systems stayed north of CO and the dip in the northern Jet wasnt as deep

Maybe in Coloardo. Things are still going strong in the Cascades.
Generally the snow pack in Colorado melts pretty fast though...
Should be able to find something sporadically if you look at very high elevations. Not in Colorado, though.

I wonder if that has anything to do with the recent wildfires?
