December for Phoenix, cloudiest month with only 70% possible sun, shortest days sunrise between 7-7:30, with sunset from 5:20-5:30ish, and our coolest month. January is warmer and sunnier
I would never have expect an arizonian choosing december. Hard to understand why not to love winter there after heat hell most of the year and blinding sun.

I would say that here is close btw September, October and January. The first two are peak spring and it means inestable, bipolar weather, neither cold nor warm, and favorable to get sick. There is a chance of extremes during those months, but in the cold side they don't produce any significative mark, while in the warm side they look weird and misplaced. Then January is peak summer and that sucks if i am still in the city and not out on vacation.
I see I voted December but now I'd say the worst time of the year is late February to mid March. Boring weather, no real signs of spring, no warmth, and winter weather sucks already.

I prefer warmth, July and August, though not "California ideal" here, are still preferable to December, you can swim, 85% possible sun, and nice long days. December here is not Miami-like, we have highs between 65-71 and lows between 43-48
August and much of September for the southern US. Really hot and humid, the novelty of summer has worn off and in September you just want it to cool down already. I'll enjoy September more up north.
I do prefer those months in Texas vs. Florida though as they have greater chances of cool offs especially September.
First year here so I don't know personally but everyone says November in western Wa is pretty bad.
Depends on personal taste, but I think I would love it. I love gloomy cold weather. A cold foggy day with the last leaves hanging on the trees, that's my kinda day
