It's been a dry spring here, haven't heard too many comments on the dryness on the forum, though we had a number of fire weather watches. Moderate drought. Plants seem fine for now, though.
May here has might be drier than average so far. Average is 78mm of precipitation, so far we got 22mm, most of which fell in about 10 minutes on May 10 (it was crazy intense)... but we're supposed to get a lot of rain this week which could bring the total back up to average or close.
We got well above average precipitation for April though with 119mm (77 mm average).
March was dry with 44 mm (70 mm average).
February was wet with 98 mm (52 mm average) and so was January with 115 mm (64 mm average).
376 mm is the Jan-Apr total compared to the 263 mm average.
Spring so far has brought 126 mm of rain, which is a bit below average (~150mm based off the monthly averages?) but the rain we're supposed to get this week should bring it roughly up to average.
Euro12z continues. Possible Frosty 26th coming up for NorthEast.(PA/CT north)
Average date for northern CT to drop to 36° or less is May 10th
This is the latest Euro. I havent checked GFS or NAM but I beleive the GFS was onto this cold shot since last week.
Maybe the peaks will see some flakes (which isnt rare for May)
Oooh...moisture within the 534 line. That could be interesting, even if it is only on the peaks. At least it won't be as boring as what we've seen for the past week with 80's and high humidity across most of the country.
How a tornado bearing storm in Oklahoma looked about 25 miles from me, about an hour after it hit Shawnee, located east of Oklahoma City. A trailer park was hard hit. Possibly a death there.
