Here in the Greater Washington DC area it may get up to 65 degrees today.
But if you watch the Weather Reports on TV, we are told over and over and over how unusual it is and it is not suppose to be this warm in late December. Then they will go on and on and act like it has never been so warm ever, never, ever!! By the time that their report is done we feel so guilty for having such a warm day that we don't leave the house. They act like maybe it's the North Koreans messing with our weather.
Next Month we will have another nice warm day that is above seasonal norms and the TV Weatherman will make us feel guilty again and tell us that it is much warmer than it SHOULD BE!

I know right. Even those located in the warm subtropical parts of the country will still complain.
Actually, I find that weathermen on TV are mostly biased towards warmer weather. Either this is what they themselves prefer or they are simply conveying what they feel is the mood of the masses. If you are really getting this impression from DC weathermen, then I think it's just an aberration. That this type is weather is unusual but not unprecedented is a fact, not an opinion; what wrong with pointing that out? If the weathermen on TV upset you this much, why not turn off the TV and go do what you said you'd like to do, go outside and enjoy it?

1) Getting 70 degree weather in late December is in fact unusual and WAY above the average temperature. Pointing out climo isn't "anger"
2) No person on TV is stopping you from leaving the house or enjoying the "nice" weather. If you feel guilty over something which isn't in your control, that's your own fault.
The TV weathermen in Minneapolis used to do that a lot.
We had a stretch of nice weather in October one year and they were going on and on about....." how long can this great weather possibly last"................." we are going to get spoiled by this great unbelievableweather"
I decided to do some actual research to see what the average high for that specific day in mid October was and found out it was the exact temp as what we were having !
I wonder if every meteorologist has to have 2 college degrees with one being DRAMA.

LOL! Very true. It has been a mild winter here in Boston, NYC, Philly and DC and every time the temp gets near 60F or more they go on and on how its so above normal and say its supposed to cold and snowy ❄and make people feel guilty about it.
Never seen that. Our weather anchors want it to be 70 DEGREES YEAR ROUND!
