Looking at the models it just gets worse and worse. WIth every run, any hope of heat is downgraded and cold fronts and southerlies are upgraded naturally ofcourse
My parents and their visiting friends from Hungary are going to Portland, Vic on Jan 5. A nasty cold outbreak is forecast with 850hpa temps AS LOW AS 1C and OFCOURSE gets "upgraded" with every single run. Story of this CRUMMER These people have been here since Dec 16 and since then, maybe 2 days were warm enough to use the pool. In the ENTIRE 2 week outlook, only TWO SHORT ONE DAY bursts of heat are forecast and absolutely no hope of storms either. The Australian Weather Forum trolls got their wish of a cold summer
I really should fill in the pool, absolutely useless in a vomit climate like this. Pointless waste of electricity running the pump and an unnecessary pain in the ass to maintain.
EDIT _ the cricket is on TV in the background and the commentator said "it was cold, cloudy this morning"
Move to San Diego. Our winter so far has been seeing days from 70F to 86F, besides some rainy and windy days last week.
Yes but there are no thunderstorms and climatically while pleasant, it is boring. I'd be getting pissed off at Phoenix for getting thunderstorms with 30C lows and 40C highs.
The lack of storms this "summer" is driving me insane. As if it's not bad enough that it is cold and cloudy. NOT ONE STORM since July.
Oh yeah-I WISH we got the summer storms that Palm Springs and the desert get in summer. But, these last few, we HAVE been getting them. Not as often, but they've come nonetheless. Why not somewhere like Honolulu, Tampa or Miami? Pretty much perpetual summer (well, besides the cold snaps that Florida gets).
It's actually hilarious that Melbourne had an absolut max of 39.9ºC while Buenos Aires had 39.0ºC, but we count, at the moment, 21 days above 30ºC, while Melbourne had only 5.
