Port Vila is far too wet, and also much cloudier. No contest.

Honolulu for certain. I don't imagine Port Vila being very sunny. It's climate is good too, but not as good as Honolulu's.

Both are nice, but I went with Honolulu because of more sunshine.

Port Vila. It's wetter, cooler and certainly less sunny.

I wouldn't mind a lot of rain (especially if thunderstorms were including if there was a drier season. But Port Villa doesn't offer that break that monsoon climates do so I pick Honolulu. If I had to live in a tropical climate, I'd prolly pick a monsoonal wet-dry seasonal contrast climate rather than either one of the two.
