Well I'm sure with a southerly breeze, it'll still get hot, but the heat and humidity won't kick in with the cool water just yet.

Portugal got even closer to 34ºC, with some 25ºC plus amplitudes in the valleys(27.3ºC absolute max)


Highest temperatures of the year, so far:

Kato Tithorea, Greece: 34.0ºC (April 19th)
Setúbal, Portugal: 33.9ºC (May 3rd)
Bailén, Spain: 33.8ºC (May 3rd)
