I'd say that the climate of Vancouver BC is overrated, especially in Canada. I think we all know why that is, but it's still overrated IMO.

I can understand people in Canada thinking Vancouver's climate is overrated, but I don't get a sense of it being overrated in other countries.

Within the UK, Cornwall is massively overrated.

Cold winter climates like NYC, Boston or Chicago are overrated, as is Sydney (although Sydney has a good climate, it's just nowhere near as good as it's made out to be).

Tropical or subtropical climates are overrated IMO.

By this do you mean to say that people abroad don't generally see Vancouver as being a city with a good climate?

I think people on this thread are listing climates they don't personally like rather than climates that are actually overrated.

Nah, I don't like subarctic or desert climates but I don't think they are overrated.

I suppose I was generalizing. But people are listing climates like Vancouver, Chicago, and Freiburg lol. Climates that most people find too cold, too cloudy, too rainy, etc. I thought this thread was about climates "most" people drool over but really aren't that great.
