Well its actually 6 hours since i've flown it twice. Not really that long so if an American wants to choose a location then they choose Ireland hence all the companies based in Cork etc.

LOL it isn't. 6 hour flight from Dublin to NYC vs a 6:30 flight from London to NYC, the two most important cities in the West, if not the whole world. Dublin is just a second tier European city. Hardly anyone from the US goes to Dublin because it's closer, except Irish-Americans (and even then they aren't even full blood Irish, they're just Plastic Paddies)

American companies based in Cork and Dublin have nothing to do with flight distance and everything to do with Ireland's tax climate

ok unbrainwashed, perhaps you should take a lesson and stop discussing things you don't know. Ireland is the base for MANY companies such as Google, Facebook, HB it is NOT irrelevant

700 US companies now located in Ireland as direct investment soars | World news | The Guardian

Yeah, but they're not going there because of a half hour shorter flight distance like you said LOL. Ireland's corporation taxes are lower than the UK's, if not the lowest in the EU. it's all about financial sense, not convenience...lol

Its not a half hour distance, its 500 bloody miles. Ireland is a unqiue positon on this continent and the question asked for pros and cons of each area so I gave it. Just because the Americans like Ireland more than PR

LOL, firstly, your claim has been debunked already since more Americans visit PR than Ireland. Secondly, seriously, you're bringing PR up again? Just because I proved you wrong, yet again

Thirdly, Dublin to London is 283 miles, not 500, LOL

Theunbrainwashed is right, it is because of taxes. Talking about corporation taxes, I boycotted Starbucks for that reason. If you are plying your trade in the UK, then pay your fair share of tax. It's not like it's even a significant amount.

The fascists at UCF make everyone take an online math placement test and you have to install all this bull**** testing software. Of course the testing browser isn't working for who knows what ****ing reason.

Getting ready for college was never this difficult 20 years ago. One of many horrid problems the Internet Age has brought to our world.

No offence but in 2014 there was 1,200,000 American visitors to the Island of Ireland, the highest amount of foreign tourists to the island. Considering there are only 3,600,000 million visitors to PR i'd bet all of them are not American.

How many of those were connecting flights to Europe though?
