Dunno, are you active (apart from getting laid )? Despite eating more or less the same, I put on about 5 kg of fat since I've moved down here. I blame it on my lifestyle. Commuting and fetching groceries by car and only using my bike for recreational purposes seems to make a big difference. It sucks having to go out of one's way to get some exercise.

I go through periods of not working out much - but it doesn't have much, if any, impact on my physique. I think if I stopped working out for a few months the changes would become apparent though - but I don't eat that much to begin with.

I've never been fat though - and I used to eat a hell of a lot when I was a teenager. I mean, when I was 19 I did have more fat around my waist but I still had a pretty good build - just without the defined abs. I don't even like 6 packs though, or really big muscles. Not my thing.

Drinking some beer this afternoon. Drinking what's left of the Rolling Rocks I had bought. If I want more, I have some extra cans of Yuengling.

How did you commute back in Paris? Haha I'm not even that active, though I always walk whenever I'm going somewhere less than 3-4 km away. Good way to enjoy the pleasant weather and get some sun, whereas in crowded and cloudy Paris I'd go for public transport straight away. This and dancing like an epileptic monkey a few nights a week probably helps Speaking of Paris, I'm going there next week. Have you seen the forecast?! A few daily records might get smashed. Météo France and Météo Paris both forecast values as high as 39°C, though they disagree on the day. Either way, without A/C it's not gonna be easy. In Nice, it's the lows that are gonna be interesting. A low of 25°C would be a record for the first third of July. I hope you have A/C, though you're not in Nice so you have it a little better - I can't imagine how steamy it's gonna be in the old town.

I commuted with subway and RER. But I used my bike a lot for other trips. And using the subway involves more walking than going down the stairs to the parking garage, get in the car and then walk a couple dozen meters to the office building.

No I don't have AC. Yep I'm tough. Anyway we had a 29.4/23.6°C in early June. It's only going to be a couple degrees warmer at best, though much longer lasting. As long as the highs don't get much above 30°C I assume indoors will be comfortable-ish. I often find the Promenade to be the warmest part of the town in the evening. Maybe it's all the concrete. Or the fact that I expect the seafront to be cooler than the rest of the city, while it isn't really the case in Nice.

Funny I'm also going to Paris for the weekend. This heat-deprived southerner can't wait. The banks of the Seine will be mighty crowded Saturday night.

^^ Why would either of you want to be in Paris when it's 39 C?

It was perfect at 18 and 20 C, but 39 degrees, I'd die, especially without AC.

I'm so glad I went when I did - it sucks being stuck here with our summer, but at least I can play hermit and stay indoors with the AC on...lol.

The pollution, the sweaty people in the un-ACed subway... What's not to love?

The upstairs of my parents' house will be a furnace though. Might want to sleep elsewhere.
