28°F with full sun at 10:15am here November 18th and feels like 16°F with 25mph wind gusts.
Heres a look at the current wind chills out there. Feels like single digits in Kentucky and teens in Atlanta. Nashville full sun and feels like 13F with wind.
Not only is the trough digging down with 500mb heights showing 510 line in U.S, 540 line down to Kentucky but the temps at 4500 feet. Under the pink is -10 to -20°C. Freezing line down to gulf.
The surface does not get warm/hot with this air like that above. Sure it warms up from the morning lows or will feel warm at times, but the cold air above is suppressing & mixing everything to the surface and keeping us cold and below normal.. Seasonable temps would be single digits Celsius at this level for most.
Impressive airmass for this time of year. Snowpack & Ice will now enhance all these cold N/NW shots from here on out. If any warm up doesn't melt it all.
Another flat day today. Not warming up at all. Staying about 32 the whole day. Sunny, incoming cold air canceling out the diurnal cycle. High was in the middle of the night
Snow cover looking pretty impressive for this time of year, that's for sure. Some patches of snow cover this morning even all the way down to Alabama. Intellicast - Snow Cover in United States

Just think of what would have happened with all that lake effect snow in NJ .
Have you seen any? I clicked on that link and it took me to my area. Apparently there are isolated flurries in parts of SNJ too. Not here, though. Very windy here. I can hear the wind howling.
Its probably just grauple transiting to heavy snow above 2000 feet.
