Temperatures hovering in the upper 50s just after noon in the Miami area. The record low max for the area today is 67. Looks like it will be broken by at least 5. As a side note it was 86 on monday.

What do you guys think?

P.S It was 17 in the panhandle this morning.

I love it today even though it's a little bit chilly for me, definitely using the backyard fire pit tonight!

Wow, that's even colder than what we had in our recent cold snap here in Vancouver! We had one night drop down to 22°F but that's as cold as it got for us.

Yeah it amazes me how cold some parts of florida can get! Of couse down where I live 30s happen only a few times a year and sometimes not at all.

Still in the 50s right now

On pace to be the second coldest high temperature ever recorded in november down here!

Cold snaps in November in Florida seem pretty unusual. From what I under stand they tend to happen more toward the middle of December through early February. I remember going down to Hollywood back in 1984 right after Thanksgiving for a funeral, and spending the week there and it was still in the 80s for highs. We spent a couple of days at Halandale and Ft Lauderdale beaches, and the water was still quite warm too. My stepdad owned a Camaro at the time, and I remember that when we started our trek home we were heading up the Florida Turnpike with the t-tops off, and in fact didn't put them back on until we crossed the Georgia border!

Christmas of 1985 was a different story. We went down for 2 weeks spending 1 week in Hollywood, and the next week through New Years in the Tampa area. I remember crossing the border into Florida, and saying "horray I can take my winter coat off!" My mom said, "don't you dare, it's 35 degrees out there!" As we progressed further south it warmed up significantly, and by the time we hit the Miami area around 5PM or so it was in the 70s. The next day we went to the beach it was 55 with a wind chill. Brrrr! For that week when the sun was out it was in the upper 60s, and it always seemed when it was in the 70s it was rainy. Christmas day was nice and warm and in the 70s, and I remember having my shirt off outside that morning, and the Christmas dinner feeling more like a Memorial Day BBQ, which was unique and totally cool! The day after Christmas was in the low 50s, and at night dropped below freezing, in which folks were freaking out. Upstate they were predicting teens in spots, and they were worried about the crops. The day we left to go to Tampa we went across Alligator Alley and it was in the 80s! Go freakin' figure! By the time we get to Tampa it's cold! Lows in the 40s! The rest of the week was sunny and in the 60s, and in fact it didn't hit 70 until the end of the week. So, at any rate the holidays are not always the best time to go there if you're trying to get a tan, and get summer warmth, but it sure was better than the several inches of snow that we left in Ohio for 2 weeks. If I still had a family connection down there, and could afford it, I would do it again this time with my wife and kid in a heartbeat!

I agree. Florida isn't supposed to be cold.

Well, it's freak weather all over. Denver had crazy record cold.. down below zero last week. I've never seen it get that cold in early/mid November. Luckily, I was out of town last week. Today is around 50, so back to normal.
