Funny how most places on the East Coast only get thunderstorms in the summer but in LA 0% chance of summer thunderstorm but winter thunderstorms can happen. Love Med climates!

Huh?? East coast gets thunderstorms in winter a lot. What made you say that? Especially when you have a sharp front coming in (Cold Clashing With Warm Air). Not convective but Thunderstorms happen often. Even with temps in the 40s and 50s.

I don't seem to remember a lot of thunderstorms in Pittsburgh in the winter when I lived there. Kansas yes but the weather there is highly variable.
Pittsburgh did get a lot of thunderstorms from April to like October though. I did witness thundersnow once, was quite weird.
Louisiana took the cake for thunderstorms though. Thunderstorms year round. Nothing like a giant thunderstorm with 6" of rain on a Christmas night.
