Wow, a high of only 52 F in Raleigh. That's more like January than the end of April lol.

Looks like it stayed in the 40s in Southwest VA, Blacksburg had a high of only 49 F (9 C) today:

History : Weather Underground

Amazing what cloud cover and precipitation can do to the temperature.

The dew points aren't too friendly either! Near 70F.

I think that forumers were already talking about this...

Surprisingly cool in NC!
I wonder what the travelers on I-95 northbound are thinking of the temp diff between SC and NC. Imagine getting in your car somewhere in SC and having to run the AC at max due to the 88-degree temps, and then hop out for a bathroom break 3 hours later in NC and it's 55 degrees. What a shock...lol.

Wow is right. Nice catch. 53 as it stands so far. Sun down in couple hours so lets see if it holds. If that sun pops through they could spike up.

IEM :: NC_ASOS Current Conditions

53 is the normal high for December 15-19 or February 1-6. End of April. Awesome.

Happens once every 5-10 years after April 25th

Current temps. South of Front Torching. North of front Nice.

NWS Raleigh

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RALEIGH NC
325 PM EDT SUN APR 26 2015

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
AS OF 245 PM SUNDAY...

MAIN FORECAST CHALLENGE IN THE NEAR TERM CENTERS ON WHEN SKIES ARE EXPECTED TO CLEAR. VISIBLE IMAGERY DOES SHOW A SOUTHWARD DRIFT TO THE CLEARING-OUT OF THE LOW CLOUDS OVER CENTRAL-SOUTHEAST VA EARLY THIS AFTERNOON.

POTENTIAL FOR THE OVERCAST/BROKEN SKIES TO PERSIST A BIT LONGER THAN FORECAST AS LOSS OF INSOLATION MAY SLOW CLOUD EROSION PROCESS.

A LIGHT NLY WIND THIS EVENING WILL SUBSIDE TO NEAR CALM OVERNIGHT. IF PARTIAL CLEARING OCCURS...POTENTIAL FOR POCKETS OF FOG TO DEVELOP. MIN TEMPS LOW-MID 40S.

Same afternoon temperature here as North Carolina. And it's not exactly a heat wave up here.

Just got off the phone with my mom - she flipped out when I said it was 81 here - she's shivering at 53 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. Amazing temp difference.

sun popped up about an hour ago its cloudy again now. yesterday was a little warmer than today but still absolute crap. but believe It or not if felt nothing like 52. it wasn't cold at all despite what the temp might say. I guess that's sun angle for you. this kind of weather is fine in January but it pisses me off in april. I really hope we have a hot summer to make up for this winter and spring. what really made me frustrated though was how in Atlanta it was in the 80s and here in low 50s. I was thinking come on warmth just move a couple hundred miles north at least. lol more like south of front nice and north of front crap.i don't hate this kind of weather but its end of april its not time for it lol. I actually love cloudy cool days in winter. I still made the best of the day and looked for bright spots in the forecast and the day. we had blinds open all day and it was really nice when clouds broke for a bit and house became very bright.
